This research examines authority conflicts in a distributed bookkeeping workflow. Its bounded conclusion is that segregation of duties should be measured through defined populations, source lineage, compatible units, explicit authority, and retained review evidence. The method supports a buyer decision about process design. It does not audit a company, certify a provider, or determine the correct accounting treatment for a specific transaction.
